Now completing 22 years of service for children in need is SOS Children’s Village Faridabad, set up in the industrial capital of Haryana. It was established in 1987, primarily to serve as a field demonstration model for the SOS Mothers Training School. It is a mini Children’s Village comprising of 5 houses and home to 63, happy children. Being in the National Capital Region it has good telecommunication, transportation, educational & medical facilities available.
Facilities attached to the Children’s Village include a Day Care Centre and a Learning Centre consisting of a Computer lab, Library, Music & Dance and an Activity Room. Resource persons guide children on hobbies and careers during vacation.
Children attending schools are progressing well. Some of our youngsters have shown exceptional talents and aptitude. Yash has been selected by the United World College, Costa Rica for an International Baccalaureate Diploma; Dolly has joined a three program in Journalism & Mass Communications; Jahnvi has secured a merit scholarship from Westminister College, United States for a 4 year Degree course. One of our girls Devleena received the ‘Best Employee Award’, while Mother Ms Sadhna Bhatnagar received the ‘Big Women’s Achievement Award’.
